REEF files submission in four-year award review

As members know, the Fair Work Commission is currently conducting a statutory review of all modern awards. Importantly, this includes the Real Estate Industry Award.

In accordance with the timetable set by the Fair Work Commission for the review of our key industry award, REEF has filled a joint submission with the Queensland employer association opposing various changes that have been proposed by real estate unions.

The unions' proposed changes relate to significant increases to the minimum award rates of pay, underpinning commission-only arrangements with a safety net wage and the imposition of serious restrictions to the debit-credit commission system.

Hearing dates have been set for 21-24 November 2016 to determine the various union applications.
